When not on wedding duties, I shoot commercial and editorial photography for a collection of clients. Normally, a lot of my work is contractually obliged to stay away from my blog and website, though some of it allowed to feature.
This project is for the insurance company More Than, for their Winter 2011/12 Road Safety Awareness campaign. The campaign is progressing around the schools of the UK at the moment, with guest presenters and children's entertainers getting the road safety message across to primary school pupils.
Away from the schools, and into the media, this shot features a trained Labrador wearing one of the new hi-vis jackets. It was taken in a city centre in rush hour traffic, with the simple yet patience-testing job of getting the dog to look in the right direction, together with just the right amount of background action. No photoshop jiggery-pokery here. This was taken lying down in the rain with a Nikon D3 camera and 24mm f/1.4 lens, hand held. I'm really pleased with the result, as is the client - raw editorial photography in 'perfect' conditions! You may well have seen the ad in the press so far....?
Nice shot Mick. Can you teach me how to make a labrador sit still long enough to have its photo taken please? Because I can't get mine to!
ReplyDeleteLook it straight in the eyes...and whine playfully like a puppy! Trust me...I know you're going to try that now. It works....
