Viv & Paul were married recently in York. The wedding venue was The Treasurer's House - a National Trust building standing literally in the shadow of York Minster. ior me, it doesn't get much better than this- I simply love York and all it has to offer.
Viv & Paul's wedding was different to most - no Bridesmaids, Best Man or speeches; simply a relaxed go-with-the-flow day with a lovely family party atmosphere. All I knew was the ceremony was at 2pm, and Viv's preps were next door at Grays Court around 9am...the whole day was to be live and natural.
Music for the ceremony and afternoon reception was beautifully provided by a duo playing authentic medieval instruments - no Elbow or Snow Patrol this afternoon... ;-)
The couple and myself went walkabout for fifteen minutes, around the Minster and surrounding streets - all very quick and 'painless'. Viv got to play, plus show off the forty-year old family heirloom veil...
After a an afternoon buffet, accompanied by real ales , champagne and wine, it was time to retire next door at Gray's Court - to the mellow tunes of a superb jazz quartet.
