July - Personal work

Personal work - American Car Show at Tatton Park

I was off last weekend, so I thought I'd go to Tatton Park to see the classic US Car Show. Normally I miss this event due to work commitments...but not this year -Yay!

It was brilliant to see these classics, in their immaculate glory. One of my personal favourites was there, in the shape of a beautiful bright yellow 1967 Mercury Cougar, a proper muscle car - as was a stunning 1969 Dodge Challenger. Absolute bliss not being on 'wedding duty' for a change...until next week.

So, I immersed myself in all the classic, over-the-top, vulgar, beautiful, stylish American beasts for the afternoon. In a 70's analogue, retro stylee...

Lisa & Jon's wedding at Tatton Hall

Lisa & Jon were married in Hale Barns
at the end of June. With a stunning horse-drawn carriage, plus a classic red London bus, the guests were treated to a journey in style. I travelled on the bus with the guests, then returned to the Greyhound pub - a real-life half way house, where we swapped the carriage for the double decker. Ever tried taking photographs on a crowded bus racing at 35mph down twisty country lanes? Nigh on impossible! But we got there... and I wasn't travel sick ;-)

These are some of my favourites from the day...

My clients work out in Dubai, though Lisa is from Hale Barns. Lisa had been over recently for pre-wedding meetings to make final preparations, including myself. But it's always an interesting experience meeting one half of your clients on the church steps!

In keeping with the retro travel arrangements, I opted for an old semi-vintage look for the images...

With my customary 20 mins, I managed to shoot formal and informal portraits of Lisa & Jon in and around the beautiful grounds at Tatton. I just let them do their own thing really...

I have never seen the suite at Tatton so beautifully designed and decorated. With stunning backlit linens and stage lighting, the flashgun never came out once. The tables and flowers were simply amazing- and I see a lot of wedding receptions over a year...
