February Weddings

KATIE & PHIL AT MOTTRAM HALL, CHESHIRE

Katie & Phil were married at st Thomas' Church, High Lane, then it was on to Mottram Hall for the reception. The 26th was a very cold, overcast day, with the sun popping out (very) sporadically. Even I felt a little sorry for the bridesmaids as they waited for Katie's car to arrive!

These are some of my favourites from the day...

The church is beautiful, and just the right size for an intimate family wedding. Half way through the ceremony, Katie stood at the pulpit and read a very personal message to her new husband-to-be, which, I think, took us all by surprise...

Nominated for:
Wedding Photograph of The Year 2010 Award

I was extremely pleased to find out on Friday that my favourite wedding image of 2010, has also made it to the final of the Wedding Belles’ Wedding Photograph of the Year Award 2010.

I entered the photograph a few weeks ago and had actually forgotten about it until last week, when I found out it had been selected for the top 50 entries, apparently narrowed down from hundreds...

The judges then had the very difficult task of narrowing down those 50 wedding photographs to just 12 finalists, and I was delighted to find out that this shot was one of the final twelve! So...I would grateful if you could please spare a few seconds to vote for my image - it's No 4....just click the link below.

Winter Blues

My last wedding, shot in January won't be featured on the blog - the clients have respectfully asked for privacy, which I always fully comply with. After the post production session of the wedding images was complete, I managed to take an afternoon off, and went to Southport for lunch and some fresh air. And boy, was it fresh! It's a long time since I've witnessed sea fog like this, but it was fantastic. The baby Nikon struggled to focus at times, so I shot these images the old fashioned way - fully manual! Here are a few images from the (shortlived!) afternoon...
